Ready to recycle: Alwin Limited adds new DAF XF 530 FAW to its fleet
Long-time customer Alwin Limited has taken delivery of its new DAF XF 530 FAW. This is the third XF rigid chassis that the West Midlands family business is adding to its fleet, all supplied by its local DAF dealer Motus Commercials Halesowen.
Normally available in CF, this ultra-rare truck was specified with an XF cab on an 8 × 4 rigid chassis. Built to special order, the XF Comfort Cab offers ample living space for the driver while providing a low roof for easier access when loading. A significant addition to the vehicle specification is the 10 ton front axle, providing more capacity on the front when the vehicle is loaded.
David Rowlingson, Managing Director of Alwin Limited, comments: “We have continuously purchased DAFs for our fleet as we have confidence in the brand and the superb support we are getting from our local dealer Motus Commercials Halesowen is an important consideration. We chose the XF cab because our drivers do a lot of work over long distances and a larger cab with all the features that come with it provides ultimate driving comfort.
Rowlingson continues, “The truck turns heads on the road and the 1360 dual-drive tandem axle tridem chassis provides ultimate traction when off-roading. The unique configuration, including an additional steered trailing axle and optional automatic lift, improves the overall turning radius for better maneuverability and access. It also saves fuel and reduces tire wear when the vehicle is empty or lightly loaded, reducing our overall operating costs.
The DAF XF 530 FAW was also fitted with a Hiab Multilift hook loader and a Multilift hook sheeter, as well as: LED headlights, Truck Nav and Air Horns, making it stand out among the fleet. .
Ray Gayle, Truck Sales Manager at Motus Commercials Halesowen, concludes: “We are delighted to be able to deliver such a unique and specialized vehicle to Alwin Limited and to continue our working relationship with them. Their new DAF XF has been built with both the operator and the driver in mind and certainly looks like the piece on the roads. We wish them all the best with their new vehicle.
