Dragons’ Den Entrepreneur buys back his Dragon

DRAGONS ‘DEN entrepreneur Ed Hollands, who received backing from former BBC Dragon Jenny Campbell, bought it out three years after investing in his mobile advertising business.

The 27-year-old University of Derby graduate has gone through all the blockages with his company DrivenMedia and is now ready to go it alone.

“Attracting the support of a Dragon like Jenny Campbell was brilliant and it was so important for my business to take off in those early days,” said Ed.

“Jenny and her team have helped me ‘take it to the next level’ in the advertising world, build a supply chain, develop strong business relationships and have helped me connect with brands that would see the value of advertising on trucks traveling in the UK. “

For Ed, the time had come for his business to evolve. It first received funding from Jenny Campbell, known as Cashpoint Queen, in November 2017. The episode of the popular show didn’t air until February of the following year, when audiences saw Jenny take a 20% stake in the company.

In recent weeks, with Jenny’s backing, Ed has bought out his share of the business and that of all the other investors, and is now poised to move forward as sole owner of DrivenMedia Limited.

“I am very proud after we all went through this traumatic time as a company and in business that I was able to redeem Jenny. I would like to thank her and her team for their invaluable support. While the pandemic may have affected revenue last year, the current fiscal year is expected to be profitable. With all of my efforts to grow the business, I felt the time had come for me to take the reins and allow myself to do things my way. I can’t wait to take the next steps in my professional career.

DrivenMedia is the UK’s leading specialist in truck advertising media. Brands that have already seized this innovative opportunity include Cheeky Panda, an eco-friendly housewares company; BoardRM, a job search podcast, and CT1, a sealant and glue brand.
