The test was conducted by the Mati City Traffic Management Office (MCTMO), the City Public Safety Office, and the Traffic Supplies and Construction Corporation, which was the same company that managed the traffic sign system in Tagum City.

The morning before the dry track, MCTMO staff received a briefing and orientation on the new road sign system at the Pelaez Activity Center.

The mayor of the city of Mati, Michelle Nakpil Rabat, was represented by Allan Andrada during the orientation, which was facilitated by project engineer John Bernard Infante.

A few days before the actual orientation, leaflets were distributed to drivers with basic information about the traffic lights.

The local government said the traffic lights are turned on individually by project engineer Bernard Infante and Jeysie Agdan.

City councilor Eric Rabat, responsible for the city’s road sign system, said it was a milestone for the city and hopes for more similar projects in the future.

During the test, it was observed that local drivers and pedestrians were adapting to city traffic lights.

Infante said they would make adjustments to the traffic light system as they observed during the dry run that the starting signal for pedestrians is a bit longer, especially on Rizal Street during rush hour. This in order to facilitate the circulation of vehicles and pedestrians.

The 20 million peso urban traffic signaling project started on April 8, 2021 and is part of the infrastructure program under the administration of Rabat.

WARREN – City police found a large amount of suspected methamphetamine and heroin on the floor of a Chevrolet Cobalt that was pulled over near the Warren Heights apartment complex on Thursday.

Officers stopped the vehicle after 10 a.m. in the Maryland Street NW 400 block parking lot, the report said. The driver, identified as Tyrin Blackwell Sr., 27, was arrested for driving while suspended.

As officers searched the vehicle, they observed two bags on the driver’s floor, one containing suspected crack and the other which appeared to contain heroin. Next to the bags was a box of plastic sandwich bags, latex gloves and a digital scale.

On the passenger side floor, an officer found a large bag of suspected methamphetamine weighing approximately 94 grams. A field test found he was positive for methamphetamine, the report says. The other suspected drugs were taken to a lab for positive tests.

Blackwell pleaded not guilty to a charge of aggravated trafficking and was held on $ 100,000 bond. Its next hearing is set for September 23 at 10:15 a.m. before municipal judge Terry Ivanchak.

Other charges are pending against Blackwell, who remains in Trumbull County Jail, the report said.

A roadside check on Friday morning by police in Warren also resulted in the recovery of drugs.

A 2006 Chevrolet Equinox was pulled over for suspected speeding around 1:30 a.m. at West Market Street and Delaware Avenue NW, the report said.

The man and woman inside were taken into custody and the vehicle searched, the report said. A bag of suspected methamphetamine was taken in the back seat and inside a purse an officer found a scale, Q-Tips, plastic bags and $ 120 in cash. Inside another bag, an officer found three metal pipes and a bottle full of pills. Small amounts of the suspected methamphetamine were also found in a plastic bag and a folded towel. Inside a folded card, suspected heroin was found, the report said.

No one has been taken into custody, the report says, but charges are pending based on the lab results.

Part of the A1 (M) was closed this morning after an accident involving 5 vehicles.

The collision occurred on the southbound carriageway between Exit 4 for Hertford and Welwyn Garden City and Exit 3 for the A414 North Orbital Road for St Albans and South Hatfield at 7.48am.

The incident involved a gray Toyota station wagon, a white Ford Transit van, a black Toyota van, a black VW Tiguan and a white Vauxhall van.

Two lanes have been closed and there are long delays in the area with congestion going all the way to Exit 6 for Welwyn and Welwyn Garden City.

Both lanes reopened at 9.45am.

There was a 40 minute delay as a result of the collision, but traffic should now be clear.

The incident also caused long delays on the southbound carriageway of the nearby A1000 – Great North Road, in Hatfield.

Drivers going in this direction are advised to allow extra time to complete their journey or to look for alternative routes.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: “Police were called at 7.48am today (Tuesday 14 September) to report a road collision involving five vehicles on the southbound A1M near junction four.

“A gray Toyota station wagon, a white Ford Transit van, a black Toyota van, a black VW Tiguan and a white Vauxhall van were involved.

“The collision had blocked two lanes of the roadway.

“The officers were present and no injuries were reported.

“The road was clear and vehicle recovery was completed at 9:50 am.”

After World War II plans began to form to improve infrastructure around London and these evolved into the London Ringways program in the 1960s.

If this project had been implemented, there would have been four different ring roads around London, instead of just the M25.

Here is the story of almost four different “M25s”:

Where would the roads have been?




With the increase in the number of cars across the country, especially in areas around London, it became evident that more road infrastructure was needed.

Inspired by the County of London plan in the 1940s, in 1964 the government of the day devised the London Ringways program.

Backed by the Greater London Council – which largely approved the plans – work has started on the design and construction of the London Ringways.

This proposed the construction of four separate ring roads around London, with a gap of about eight miles between each.

Device 1




Ringway 1 would have acted as a box around central London.

Four roads would have joined in a parallelogram shape, with Hackney Wick, Battersea, Harlseden and Kidbrooke at the four corners.

It would have served as transport routes to central London through places like Camden, Greenwich, Brixton and Peckham.

In the 1960s, the London Underground was nowhere near as developed as it is today, with the Jubille Line and the DLR not even being built yet.

Highway type roads were therefore not excluded.

Only a few minor sections of this part of the Ringways have been built, including the East Cross Route and the Westway.

If Ringway 1 had been built it would have been known as East Cross Route, West Cross Route, South Cross Route and North Cross Route.

Device 2




Ringway 2 would be the first full ring road.

The northern half would have followed the route of the existing North Circular road between Gunnersbury and the M11.

It would then separate from the old road – which ended at Gants Hill – and head towards the Thames via Beckton.

Once at the Thames, a new tunnel would have been built to Thamesmead.

This would have replaced the Woolwich Ferry.

This new tunnel would have linked the northern half of Ring 2 to the southern half, which would have replaced Circulaire Sud.

This southern section was never built.

If Ringway 2 had been built it could have been called M15 – as it was assigned to a section of the road between the M11 and the A13 – but this has never been confirmed.

Device 3




The Ring 3 would have followed in part the route that we know today as the M25.

It would have started in Essex at Dartford Crossing, then head north on the same route as the M25 today.

At Potters Bar it would take a tighter turn, heading south through Harrow and Hounslow.

South of the Thames it would pass Chessington, Purley and Croydon before reaching Swanley.

It would then follow the route the M25 makes today to Dartford Crossing.

The section of Ringway 3 that was built eventually became the M25, in addition to a part of Ringway 4 that was built.

Engineers then built an additional road to connect the two, to create what we know today as the M25.

If Ringway 3 was built, it could have been called the M16 – as appears on some planning documents – but this has never been confirmed.

Device 4




Ringway 4 would not have been a ring per se, but rather a spiral.

It would originate from Ringway 3 near Brentwood via the proposed M12 – a then newly planned motorway for Essex.

It would then continue north past Epping on the M11 and past Hoddesdon, Hatfield and St Albans.

At Watford it would follow the M25 road to Redhill, where it would follow the M26 road to Kent.

The parts of Ringway 4 that were built were glued together with the parts of Ringway 3, creating what we now call the M25.

The M26 was also born from this match.

It is not known what Ringway 4 would have been called, but the documentation refers to Ringway 4 as the north and south orbital highway.

There was also a selection of connecting roads called “radials” which connected all the Ringways together.

Some of these “radials” were built and exist today, like the extension of the M11, and some never were, like the aforementioned M12 and M13.

How would Herts have been affected?

Hertfordshire would undoubtedly have been impacted by the Ringways program, as would all the other counties surrounding London.

Had Ringway 4 been completed, residents of St Albans and Hoddesdon, as well as other areas of Herts, might have had other travel options.

The interconnection of all these roads could also have relieved the M25 that we all know too well these days.

The increase in road infrastructure through the program may also have made traveling by car much easier in and around London.

If Ringways had been fully built, it is possible that the transport network from London – including rail links and the Elizabeth Line – would not have been so extensive.

Crossrail 2 may not even have been a proposition.

It’s impossible to know what life might have been like with Ringways, but that certainly wouldn’t be the way we live it now.

Why didn’t this happen?

Clearly, Ringways was never completed.

In the 1970s, after construction began on various parts of the Ringways, the project became increasingly controversial.

The Greater London Council has estimated that if completed Ringways 1, 2 and 3 would cost around £ 1.7bn to build, or £ 26.5bn today.

The plans are fiercely unpopular to us among London residents, who have said central London’s freeways will look out of place and ugly – as well as demolish huge swathes of historic land.

It has been reported that between 15,000 and 80,000 Londoners could have lost their homes had the entire Ringways program been built to completion.

That is why in 1973 the Labor Party presented an anti-Ringways manifesto in the Greater London Council elections.

It turned out to be popular and they were voted on by a majority.

Fierce opposition from Labor in London and resident campaign groups led the government to withdraw funding for the project mid-construction.

Over the next 13 years, existing parts of the already built Ringways were sealed with sections of road to create what we know today as the M25 – which was completed in 1986.

Decades later, traffic remains a problem around London, but huge infrastructure projects have turned to rail with the HS2 and the Elizabeth Line, both equally controversial.

It doesn’t look like we’ll ever see four different M25s, but there are probably a lot of people out there who are thankful.

Wincanton, the largest UK-based supply chain company, has extended its framework agreement with BAE Systems, a provider of defense, aerospace and security technology solutions by five years.

The contract extension builds on existing services provided by Wincanton for BAE Systems, incorporating supply chain solutions into its airline industry and UK shipbuilding operations, extending a 23-year relationship. Wincanton will continue to provide transportation, warehousing, materials management, packaging and inspection services to BAE Systems, supported by continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

During their relationship, Wincanton and BAE Systems worked in partnership to create technology solutions. Wincanton will continue to integrate its material movement tracking and tracing portal with BAE Systems purchasing systems, improving supply chain visibility.

Wincanton will also help BAE Systems meet its goal of zero net greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 through increased alignment of operations and services.

The grinding will take place during the day on Sunday August 22 from 7 a.m. at 12 p.m. Paving is scheduled for the following weekend, Saturday August 28 and Sunday August 29 in the evening from 7 p.m. at 6 a.m. Traffic will be limited to one lane, so delays should be expected and alternative routes should be considered.

Phill Bascombe Transport Ltd has taken delivery of a new Volvo FH 8 × 2 truck with fly-jib crane, supplied by MV Commercial.

The new vehicle is equipped with a Palfinger PK 92002-SH F crane with a PJ125 E fly-jib extendable up to 30.4 m, a winch and a grapple saw for tree felling operations .

Phill Bascombe, Managing Director, said: “This new truck is an upgrade from anything we previously had in our fleet. This gives us the flexibility to take on a greater choice of jobs and allows us to work in more difficult places.

“We are providing a new service to local tree surgery companies that deal with the removal of trees with dying ash trees; these can be very dangerous and should be worked at a distance of at least 10 meters. With this new vehicle, we can manage this work via the remote control ensuring that our staff are safe throughout. “

The FH is also equipped with a Palfinger personal basket, allowing personnel to work safely at great heights, or it can be used as an below deck unit to perform vital inspections. When not in use, the basket can be removed.

“This unit required more than a standard solution, so we worked closely with MV Commercial to specify the truck according to the requirements we needed. The team is always able to offer us a bespoke package that is not available anywhere else, and we are already seeing the benefits of this latest addition.

While on the move, Phill Bascombe Transport Ltd can also call on MV Commercial’s national support network, with over 100 authorized workshops in the UK and Ireland.
