Auburn Distinguished Alumnus, CEO and Vet Jay Price to Deliver Summer Keynote

Prominent business owner, veterinarian, and Auburn alumnus Dr. Jay Price will deliver the graduation speech at the college’s summer commencement ceremony on Friday, August 5 at 5 p.m. at Neville Arena.

Price, a 2006 graduate of Auburn with a bachelor’s degree in zoology and a doctorate in veterinary medicine, is the founder and chief executive of Southern Veterinary Partners, one of the nation’s largest networks of veterinary hospitals. With more than 7,000 employees at more than 300 locations in 22 states, Price has created a pioneering business model focused on providing exceptional veterinary care to animals and customers. Additionally, SVP provides integrated support to veterinary hospitals by offering comprehensive resources such as human resources, finance, marketing and other operational support services.

Since graduating, Price, a native of Phenix City, has focused on fostering a community of animal care providers and veterinarians known for providing personalized patient care and strengthening health needs. animal health and welfare. Price will kick off debut weekend by delivering his speech to a graduating class of nearly 1,300 students and their families on Aug. 17 CST at Neville Arena. In addition to Price’s speech, Friday’s ceremony also includes the graduation ceremony by the board of trustees, recognition of graduating students with honors, official welcoming of students to the Auburn Alumni Association, and a confetti celebration at the end of the ceremony. All graduates must attend the ceremony on Friday, where they will collect their name cards required for the Saturday varsity ceremonies and official photographs. Arena doors open at 3 p.m. Guests can enter through the main doors or through the scholarship entrance for those with accessibility needs. Graduates must arrive no later than 4 p.m.

The undergraduate and graduate school ceremonies will take place at Neville Arena on Saturday, August 6, with the first ceremony beginning at 8 a.m. Graduates should plan to arrive at Neville Arena at the designated time for their university’s commencement ceremony and enter through the student entrance. All ceremonies will begin with remarks from the Dean, followed by the student procession, where graduates will receive a copy of the Auburn Creed.
