A1(M) traffic: Police tell the public to ‘avoid the area’ after a serious crash involving a car and a truck in Hatfield
Police have told drivers to ‘avoid the area’ following a serious accident in Hatfield this morning (February 4).
Emergency services were called to Roehyde Way at around 3.40am after an accident involving a car and a truck.
This has caused very slow traffic in the area as drivers seek to take alternate routes.

Officers are still at the scene and have implemented a road closure at the Junction Three off-ramp on the A1(M).
This is to allow access for emergency vehicles.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the area where possible, with live traffic maps showing congestion around alternative routes in Hatfiled.

On the A1(M), there are also traffic jams at junction four for the southbound route, while there are more queues between junctions one and three.
The exit ramp remains closed while police carry out investigative work.
